Cartoon Network Ducks $50M 'Black Jesus' Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (December 7, 2017, 12:09 PM EST) -- Time Warner Inc. and the Cartoon Network on Wednesday escaped copyright infringement allegations that the channel’s “Black Jesus” show stole its premise from a short story called “Thank You, Jesus,” as a New York federal judge ruled the two Jesuses weren’t very similar and tossed the $50 million suit.
