Feds Say Extortion Case Dead Unless Judge Alters Jury Plan

Law360 (March 6, 2018, 9:54 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors told a Massachusetts judge on Tuesday that he torpedoed their extortion case against two Boston mayoral aides last week in a ruling requiring them to prove what they admittedly cannot.

In an emergency motion for reconsideration, Boston prosecutors called on U.S. District Judge Leo T. Sorokin to rewrite the jury instructions he included in an order denying a motion to dismiss the case against Kenneth Brissette and Timothy Sullivan.
