Deals Rumor Mill: Tronc, UnitedHealth, Ping An

Law360 (August 8, 2018, 7:27 PM EDT) -- Newspaper publishing giant Tronc is considering selling the Chicago Tribune to a private equity firm, the newspaper reported on Wednesday. According to the report, the offer could be worth at least $700 million for the newspaper and its holdings. Citing anonymous sources, the outlet reported that another private equity bidder may appear. The report comes after Tronc earlier this year sold the Los Angeles Times and The San Diego Union-Tribune for $500 million.
