Las Vegas Sands Details $1.3B UNLV, NFL Stadium Plan
Law360, New York (March 25, 2016, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Officials with the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and executives at the Las Vegas Sands Corp. outlined their proposal to build a $1.3 billion stadium near the strip before a Nevada tourism improvement committee Thursday, saying an NFL-team-ready facility could generate billions for the city.
Speaking before the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee, which oversees the investment of state and local financial resources into city infrastructure, consultants said the proposed 65,000-capacity enclosed stadium could inject more than $1.2 billion per year into the local economy if it lures an NFL team to the gambling mecca.
