Qualcomm Wants Win On Patent Defenses Apple Cut Midtrial

Law360 (April 15, 2019, 4:08 PM EDT) -- Apple shouldn't be able to revive challenges against three Qualcomm smartphone processing patents that the iPhone maker dropped in the middle of the tech giants' recent intellectual property trial, Qualcomm has told a California federal court.

Apple Inc. abandoned its push to invalidate claims in three Qualcomm Inc. patents five days into an eight-day trial, which wrapped up last month with a jury finding that Apple owes the chipmaker roughly $31 million for infringing those patents.
