Slim has tried to push deeper into Europe's fast-consolidating telecom sector in order to diversify his telecom holdings beyond his more regulated home market of Mexico. Last year, America Movil launched a $9.7 billion campaign to take over Dutch telecom giant Royal KPN NV, but ultimately withdrew its offer amid stiff opposition from a foundation tied to the target company....
