Skype, eBay Hit With Suit Over VoIP Patent

Law360 (June 2, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technology gains popularity, so does litigation over the patents for it, most recently causing Internet service provider Net2Phone to file a suit against Skype Technologies SA and parent company eBay.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, alleges that the two companies infringed a Net2Phone patent for “point to point” Internet protocol.
