J&J Hit With $25M NY Talc Verdict, But Wins Trial In SC

Law360 (May 21, 2019, 5:43 PM EDT) -- Johnson & Johnson had mixed results in talc trials Tuesday as a New York jury found the company responsible for a woman's mesothelioma and awarded $25 million plus punitive damages while a South Carolina jury cleared it of similar allegations in another case.

(AP) The Manhattan jury awarded plaintiff Donna Olson, 66, and her husband, Robert Olson, $25 million in compensatory damages and held that punitive damages are warranted, according to J&J and Olson's attorneys.
