Silicon Valley Workers Suing Indicted VC Founder Near Cert.

Law360, San Francisco (November 20, 2020, 8:13 PM EST) -- A California judge indicated Friday that she's inclined to certify a class of former workers alleging Silicon Valley venture capital firm Rothenberg Ventures stiffed them of their wages, but the firm and its criminally-indicted founder urged the judge to reconsider, arguing that commonality and numerosity issues abound.

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Anne-Christine Massullo pushed back against arguments made by counsel for Rothenberg Ventures Management Co. LLC and its founder Mike Rothenberg, asserting that each ex-employee presents individualized questions and, therefore, the matter should not proceed as a class action.
