Verizon Settles EPA Regulatory Reporting Claims

Law360, New York (June 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cellco Partnership, which operates as Verizon Wireless, has agreed to pay $468,600 to settle with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over the company's failure to comply with laws requiring its facilities in several states to implement spill prevention plans and file other regulatory forms.

The two sides signed an administrative consent agreement resolving the violations revealed by Verizon's compliance audit in mid-May, though the settlement was not published in the Federal Register until Monday.
