Royal Caribbean Escapes Hurricane Harvey Cruise Suit

Law360 (February 4, 2019, 4:49 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge has once again granted Royal Caribbean's bid to dismiss a woman's suit claiming the company put passengers at risk when it didn't cancel a cruise as Hurricane Harvey bore down on Texas, saying the court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case.

Senior U.S. District Judge James Lawrence King on Friday granted with prejudice Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.'s motion to dismiss Nikki McIntosh's attempt to file a second amended complaint, saying she had failed to plead any facts alleging a federal cause of action.
