Law360 (February 8, 2019, 5:53 PM EST) -- The young people suing the federal government over policies they say worsen climate change have asked the Ninth Circuit for a preliminary injunction that would halt all new fossil fuel developments that require government approval, including mining coal on public lands and offshore drilling.

The federal government has actively moved to produce more fossil fuels — President Donald Trump has said he wants the U.S. to be energy dominant — and that activity is worsening greenhouse gas emissions, Thursday’s motion for a preliminary injunction said.
