Title Insurers Escape Damages In Pa. Rate-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (July 23, 2009, 6:53 PM EDT) -- Invoking the filed rate doctrine, a federal judge has ruled that title insurance purchasers in a putative price-fixing class action cannot seek monetary damages, though they can seek injunctive relief against the insurers, which include units of Fidelity National Financial Inc., Old Republic International Corp. and others.
