Sports Agent Sues Over Poached MLB Player's $110M Deal

Law360 (May 14, 2019, 4:53 PM EDT) -- A sports agent has sued a financial adviser over an alleged “secret scheme” under which renowned sports agent Scott Boras poached baseball star J.D. Martinez away from him, allegedly costing the agent $5 million.

In a complaint filed Friday in Illinois' Cook County Circuit Court, Robert M. Garber of RMG Sports Group LLC said he’d represented Martinez — a star outfielder who recently hit his 200th career home run — since 2010.
