Ill. Federal Court Enacts Local Patent Rules

Law360, New York (October 3, 2009, 3:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has enacted a set of local patent rules in order to streamline pretrial procedures in patent cases and allow for greater predictability and planning.

The rules, which went into effect Thursday, were drafted by a committee of lawyers affiliated with the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago as well as four district judges.
