Vivendi To Appeal Verdict That It Misled Investors

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 5:35 PM EST) -- French media conglomerate Vivendi SA vowed Friday to appeal a jury verdict holding the company liable for misleading investors while it was pursuing major acquisitions.

The jury reached its verdict Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, finding Vivendi liable for statements that allegedly concealed the media giant's true financial condition between 2000 and 2002 and resolving a long-running investor class action.
