By Lauren Berg (June 22, 2022, 11:13 PM EDT) -- Businessman and former Donald Trump adviser Thomas Barrack can't escape charges that he sought hundreds of millions of dollars in investments from the United Arab Emirates while secretly lobbying on behalf of the Middle Eastern country, a Brooklyn federal judge ruled Wednesday.
U.S. District Judge Brian M. Cogan in a 55-page order denied a dismissal bid by Barrack, who has pled not guilty to charges that he illicitly lobbied the Trump campaign and White House on behalf of the UAE and lied to the FBI, rejecting his argument that federal prosecutors wrongly delayed bringing the charges.
