Google, Facebook Hit With IP Suit Over Mobile Sites

Law360, New York (March 10, 2010, 1:33 PM EST) -- Mobile content management company Wireless Ink Corp. has slapped Google Inc. and Facebook Inc. with a patent infringement suit over their social networking Web sites designed for cell phone users.

Wireless Ink lodged its complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that the defendants’ mobile Web sites — including Facebook Mobile and Google Buzz — violate U.S. Patent Number 7,599,983, which covers a “method, apparatus and system for management of information content for enhanced accessibility over wireless communication...
