Rajaratnam Wins Right To Challenge Wiretaps

Law360, New York (August 13, 2010, 4:21 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has ordered a hearing to determine whether federal prosecutors recklessly omitted key information in their pursuit of wiretaps in their criminal insider trading investigation of Galleon Group chief Raj Rajaratnam.

Judge Richard Holwell of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday said the government's omission of key facts “are serious enough to constitute a substantial preliminary showing that the government acted knowingly or recklessly.”
