Mass. Homeowners Press On In Chase Mortgage Suit

Law360, New York (November 29, 2010, 2:21 PM EST) -- A federal judge has refused to block JPMorgan Chase Bank NA from foreclosing on homes in Massachusetts, but otherwise let distressed borrowers proceed with class allegations that the bank failed to provide relief for homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments.

Judge Richard Stearns of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts rejected Chase’s bid Wednesday to dismiss claims that the bank denied eligible homeowners permanent loan modifications.
