US Open Attendants Win Class Cert. In FLSA Action

Law360, New York (February 10, 2011, 3:59 PM EST) -- A federal court has certified a class of U.S. Open luxury suite attendants alleging their employers at the tennis tournament stiffed them on overtime wages.

Chief Magistrate Steven M. Gold of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Thursday granted a renewed motion for certification by the plaintiffs, which was put forward in December after the expiration of a six-month stay in the case pending a related investigation by the New York State Department of Labor.
