Time Warner, Viacom Square Off Over IPad App

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 7:45 PM EDT) -- Viacom International Inc. and Time Warner Cable Inc. filed lawsuits Thursday asking a New York federal court to decide whether existing contracts between the companies permit Time Warner to deliver Viacom's content to subscribers through an iPad application.

Time Warner filed a declaratory judgment suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, prompting Viacom to file its own suit in the same court seeking damages for Time Warner's alleged infringement of copyrights and trademarks.
