Arenas Takes Suit Over VH1's 'Wives' To 9th Circ.

Law360, New York (September 21, 2011, 3:05 PM EDT) -- Basketball pro Gilbert Arenas on Tuesday appealed a California federal judge's denial of his motion to halt the premiere of VH1 reality show “Basketball Wives: Los Angeles” over allegations of trademark infringement.

The NBA superstar wants the Ninth Circuit to weigh in on U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee's ruling that he had failed to demonstrate that show producer Shed Media US Inc. and his ex-fiancee Laura Govan, who stars on the show, would defame, dilute or otherwise tarnish the Arenas trademark.
