9th Circ. Nixes Arenas’ Bid To Block ‘Basketball Wives’

Law360, New York (December 21, 2011, 3:51 PM EST) -- The Ninth Circuit on Tuesday rejected NBA star Gilbert Arenas’ bid to stop VH1 reality show “Basketball Wives: Los Angeles” from airing over allegations that his former fiancee was exploiting his trademarked brand by appearing on the show.

In a short opinion, the appeals court ruled the district court did not abuse its discretion when it denied Arenas preliminary injunctive relief to stop the reality show about the lives of NBA players’ significant others from the airwaves.
