2nd Circ. Suspends Authors' Copyright Case Against Google

Law360, New York (September 17, 2012, 7:06 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Monday agreed to put a hold on a book digitization dispute between Google Inc. and a group of authors while Google contests class certification, further elongating a copyright dispute that has run for seven years.

Despite Circuit Judge Denny Chin's refusal last month to stall the New York federal court case while Google seeks to overturn certification, the appeals court said a stay had been approved by the parties in the case and would therefore be issued.
