Ex-El Paso Mayor Sues To Halt $50M Sports Stadium

Law360, Houston (October 5, 2012, 7:32 PM EDT) -- A former El Paso, Texas, mayor on Thursday fired a suit at several city officials in Texas federal court in a bid to prevent the demolition of a downtown building in favor of a planned $50 million sports stadium.

Ray Salazar, who served as mayor from 1977 to 1979, claims that in order to accommodate a minor league baseball stadium, the city authorized the razing of several downtown blocks, including a building that was used as city hall, without seeking the consent of local residents....
