Sacramento Kings Sale Opens Door To Seattle Move

Law360, New York (January 22, 2013, 4:48 PM EST) -- The owners of the Sacramento Kings said Monday they had sold a controlling interest in the franchise to an investment group headed by hedge-fund manager Chris Hansen, paving the way for Seattle to once more claim home to an NBA team, five years after the SuperSonics relocated to Oklahoma City.

The Maloof family said it has agreed to sell its stake in the Kings to Hansen's group, which intends to move the franchise to Seattle. The deal must be approved by the National Basketball Association's board...
