Law360, San Francisco (January 31, 2013, 2:50 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday greenlighted a $3.5 million settlement between a class of 2,062 retired NFL players and Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP over accusations that the law firm botched a $26 million settlement it negotiated for the players in a licensing dispute.
“I'm inclined to let you send out your notice and go to a final hearing,” U.S. District Judge William Alsup told the parties' attorneys Thursday in approving the proposed settlement.
