Visa, MasterCard Urge Judge Not To Revive ATM Antitrust Suits

Law360, New York (March 26, 2013, 8:28 PM EDT) -- Visa Inc. and MasterCard Inc. on Friday contested a motion by consumers and ATM operators to revive recently dismissed consolidated antitrust class actions alleging an ATM fee-fixing conspiracy between the credit card companies, arguing that amending a court’s decision was an "extraordinary" step.

The victims of the alleged plot involving Visa, MasterCard and several banks motioned March 12 for a chance to refile their suits, but the credit card companies said that because the cases had been closed, the plaintiffs had to meet far more onerous requirements than usual...
