Amazon E-Book Monopoly Case May Get Shelved

Law360, New York (April 25, 2013, 8:38 PM EDT) -- U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff on Thursday expressed doubts about allegations that large publishers conspired with Inc. so it could monopolize the e-book market, saying a putative class action by small booksellers lacked evidence.

Judge Rakoff said at a hearing in Manhattan that he had not seen allegations that suggest Amazon and six major publishers entered any kind of deliberate conspiracy.
