NYC Planning Board OKs Queens Tennis Stadium Expansion

Law360, New York (May 23, 2013, 5:38 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Tennis Association's $500 million plan to expand its tennis center in Queens moved one step closer to reality Wednesday when New York City's Planning Commission voted to approve the controversial proposal.

The expansion plan, which still must be approved by the full City Council, includes a compromise that the USTA agreed to last week in an effort to assuage local residents' concerns about the loss of public parkland that would accompany new construction.
