News Corp. Accused Of Monopolizing Grocery Coupons

Law360, New York (June 10, 2013, 4:34 PM EDT) -- A pension fund filed a derivative suit against News Corp. and one of its subsidiaries Thursday, accusing them of monopolizing the market for grocery store coupons and ads through exclusive contracts with retailers and other anti-competitive practices, exposing the companies to mounting litigation.

According to the suit, filed by shareholder Iron Workers Mid-South Pension Fund in New York federal court, subsidiary News America Inc.'s alleged schemes were known to executives at the highest levels of News Corp.'s leadership, including CEO Rupert Murdoch.
