Viacom, Google Child Web Tracking Suits Combined In NJ

Law360, Los Angeles (June 11, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Tuesday approved Viacom Inc. and Google Inc.'s bid to combine six privacy lawsuits accusing them of illegally tracking the online activities of children under 13, sending the case to a New Jersey federal judge.

The panel selected the Newark-based U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chesler, whom it described as “an able jurist with prior MDL experience,” as the judge who shall oversee the litigation for pretrial purposes.
