Chicago Agency Sues To Hasten Land Sale For $540M Arena

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 6:39 PM EDT) -- A Chicago municipal agency filed a condemnation lawsuit against real estate developer CenterPoint Properties in Illinois state court Tuesday, its latest lawsuit seeking to secure land for a $540 million stadium project.

The Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority, which oversees the sprawling McCormick Place retail center south of Chicago, said it has been unable to reach an agreement with CenterPoint over the parcel of land at 230 N.
