Tribe's Eco-Casino Compact Signed Off By Calif. Governor

Law360, New York (October 2, 2013, 2:53 PM EDT) -- In a win for a Native American tribe that currently doesn't have a hand in California's gambling industry, the state's governor signed into law on Tuesday a compact that paves the way for the tribe to develop a Class III, eco-friendly casino.

Governor Jerry Brown ratified tribal gaming compact AB 1245, which incentivizes the  Ramona band of Cahuilla Indians to build to ecology resort standards its proposed casino featuring card games and up to 750 slot machines, according to state documents. The project is expected to...
