Pandora Can't Play BMI Songs Excluded From New Media

Law360, Los Angeles (December 19, 2013, 4:50 PM EST) -- Pandora Media Inc. can't force Broadcast Music Inc. to allow it to play all the songs in its portfolio, because individual deals with copyright holders that prevent BMI from dealing with streaming new media services exclude that music from BMI’s repertory, a New York federal judge found Thursday.
