Deals Rumor Mill: Hard Rock, Evonik, Vivendi

By Karlee Weinmann (December 20, 2013, 3:18 PM EST) -- Hard Rock Cafe International Inc. is in late-stage talks to take over Atlantic City's floundering Revel Casino, sources told the New York Post on Friday. Such a deal would give Florida-based Hard Rock a long-sought presence in Atlantic City and likely on the cheap — Revel has already wobbled through a bankruptcy reorganization this year and continues to lose money. The wavering casino has been searching out buyers since June. Hard Rock, best known for its namesake eateries, owns eight other casinos. In 2011, Revel drew funding from several hedge funds to finish its construction....
