Developer Seeks $12B From Airlines For Sept. 11

Law360, New York (March 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After winning $4.6 billion in insurance payments to cover the destruction of the World Trade Center, developer Larry Silverstein is reportedly seeking $12.3 billion in damages from airlines and airport security companies, claiming that they failed to prevent the Sept. 11 attacks.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Silverstein sought the damages in a claim filed in 2004, but that the amount did not become public until it came up in a status conference in the case on March 18 in the U.S. District Court...
