NBCUniversal Gets Nod For $6.4M Unpaid Intern Deal

Law360, New York (June 3, 2015, 2:47 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge has signed off on NBCUniversal Inc.’s controversial $6.4 million deal to resolve a putative class and collective action filed by former unpaid interns at MSNBC and Saturday Night Live who said they should have been paid.

The deal, which named plaintiff and former SNL intern Monet Eliastam and NBCUniversal originally announced in October, has been the target of a handful of objectors who either said their cut was too small or assailed the lawsuit’s claims. However, in his May 28 order,...
