Judge Threatens To Sanction $170M Disney Deal Objectors

By Dorothy Atkins (May 18, 2017, 8:56 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge threatened to sanction two Disney producers on Thursday for challenging multiple pending settlements totaling $170 million that would end allegations Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks and other studios agreed not to poach each other's animators, saying the producers can't hold up the deals because they're not class members.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said she would hold off on issuing a final order approving multiple settlements paying 10,870 animators approximately $13,214 each so she can rule on class counsel's sanctions bid.
