Calif. Jury Says Emerson Owes BladeRoom $30M For IP Theft
Law360, San Jose (May 10, 2018, 4:52 PM EDT) -- A California federal jury held Thursday that American manufacturing giant Emerson Electric Co. owes U.K.-based BladeRoom Group Ltd. $30 million for stealing trade secrets to build a massive Facebook data center.
Following a 20-day trial, the jury deliberated for less than a day before reaching its verdict, concluding BladeRoom proved by a preponderance of the evidence that Emerson improperly disclosed or used two of four asserted trade secrets to build Facebook's now-completed $200 million data center in Lulea, Sweden.
