Request To Extradite Huawei Exec Clears Key Benchmark

Law360 (May 27, 2020, 11:21 PM EDT) -- A Canadian court on Wednesday removed a key barrier for the potential extradition to the U.S. of Huawei top executive Meng Wanzhou to face charges in New York stemming from a purported scheme to deceive banks about Huawei's operations in Iran.

Meng was arrested in Canada during a layover at the Vancouver International Airport in December 2018 at the request of U.S. authorities and is contesting efforts to extradite her to the U.S.
