Law360 (September 10, 2019, 8:07 PM EDT) -- Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP on Monday urged a California federal court to reject a New Jersey law firm's request for sanctions in a contentious suit over $6 million in attorney fees, calling the Garden State firm's allegations of witness tampering "frivolous" and "baseless."
McIlwain LLC had accused Hagens Berman last month of a raft of misconduct, including misleading a New Jersey court in order to get the case transferred to California, offering boilerplate defenses and objections to discovery requests, and trying to coach a deposition witness in the men's room during a break.
