Fox, CBS To Hand Over NFL Deal Docs In Sunday Ticket Case
By Joyce Hanson (December 15, 2016, 4:56 PM EST) -- Broadcasters Fox and CBS have agreed to hand over redacted documents in California federal court related to their lucrative television rights deals with the National Football League to plaintiffs alleging the NFL's exclusive Sunday Ticket package with DirecTV to show out-of-market games violates federal antitrust law.
U.S. Magistrate Judge John E. McDermott acknowledged in his Dec. 1 order that the documents may not put an end to plaintiffs' request for production of media agreements in the multidistrict litigation that brings together more than 20 suits by private and commercial subscribers over DirecTV's service, saying the plaintiffs and the NFL have agreed...
