JPML Won't Merge Athletes' Suits Against EA, NCAA

Law360 (February 8, 2011, 4:53 PM EST) -- A judicial panel Tuesday refused to consolidate a host of suits brought by former student athletes accusing the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Electronics Arts Inc. and The Collegiate Licensing Co. of antitrust and right of publicity violations.

The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said in an order that it declined a request to assign two cases to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, where 11 cases consolidated into a putative class action are currently pending.
