Car Dealers Aim To Enforce Settlement In Price-Fixing MDL

By Matthew Bultman (September 14, 2015, 5:26 PM EDT) -- Car dealers and others who secured settlements with two ocean shipping companies in multidistrict litigation over a price-fixing conspiracy asked a New Jersey federal judge Friday to amend her decision dismissing their claims, contending it is necessary so they could move forward with the agreements.

Automotive dealerships and other indirect purchasers filed a motion asking U.S. District Judge Esther Salas to reconsider her Aug. 28 order, in which the judge ruled the plaintiffs' claims were not actionable under U.S. law.

Indirect purchasers said the judge's order didn't address settlement agreements the group had previously secured with Japanese shipping giants Mitsui OSK...
