    Battery MDL Cert. Nixed, Judge Cites ‘Dangerous Precedent’

    A California federal judge on Friday granted Panasonic and Sanyo's request that she strike a renewed certification bid by a consumer class in multidistrict litigation over the alleged price-fixing of lithium-ion batteries, saying that granting the customers’ third attempt would set a “dangerous precedent” and lower the high bar for tampering with MDL case calendars.
