Deals Rumor Mill: JPMorgan, Devon Energy, Verizon

By Karlee Weinmann (November 19, 2013, 5:12 PM EST) -- New York-based banking giant JPMorgan Chase & Co. is nearing a deal that would send roughly $4 billion in private equity stakes to an investor group in line with a plan to split away from its buyout branch, according to a Tuesday report from Bloomberg. The prospective buyers interested in the holdings include Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Coller Capital Ltd., Lexington Partners, HarbourVest Partners LLC, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Ardian Inc. As part of a deal, the consortium would inject new capital into the JPMorgan unit, One Equity Partners, to help support its launch as an independent firm....
