(May 17, 2019, 9:23 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge appeared open Friday to blocking the Trump administration from repurposing defense funds to build a wall along the southern border, saying he doesn't know if it is right to let the government build the wall before legal challenges to it are resolved.
During a hearing in Oakland, U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam appeared skeptical of the U.S. Department of Justice's arguments that no one will be irreparably harmed if the government continues to build the wall using U.S. Department of Defense funds and Treasury funds while the DOJ fights legal challenges in court.
