Virginia's 'Rocket Docket' Continues To Roar

Law360, New York (April 17, 2015, 10:13 AM EDT) -- The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia ― known nationally as the "Rocket Docket" ― had the fastest trial docket in the country in 2014. Once again. For the seventh year in a row. The median time interval to trial for the 12-month time period ending Sept. 30, 2014 (the most recently released complete set of data) is 12.5 months. That's 12.5 months from the filing of the complaint until the matter was tried and concluded. That's compared to a nationwide average of 24.9 months to try a case. The EDVA is the fastest once again....
